All Sports in France are to be cancelled after the Prime Minister Edouard Philippe placed ban on all sporting events, even those behind closed doors. It is reported that this ban could stretch till September, 2020.

This stretch might deprive the current French Ligue 1 leaders, Paris St Germain, the chance to win the 2019/2020 league season.

However, other European teams have scheduled dates to resume training with view of finishing the current season.

Edouard Philippe said: “The 2019-2020 season of professional sports, including football, will not be able to resume. It will be possible, on sunny days, to practice an individual sporting activity outdoors, obviously respecting the rules of social distancing. ”

“It will not be possible, neither to practice sports in covered places, nor team or contact sports.”

This decision comes as a result of the escalation of the SARS-Cov pandemic and their effort to fight it in France.
