UK Begins First Human Covid19 Vaccine Trial Test

According to reports, the first human trial testing of coronavirus vaccine testing has begun in Oxford, Europe.

About 800 volunteers have been recruited for the study. Two sets were injected, a half will receive the Covid19 vaccine and the other half a control vaccine which protects against meningitis but not Coronavirus.

The trial will restrict the volunteers from knowing which vaccine they received, but Doctors will.

One of the volunteers who is also a scientist, Elisa Granato, told the BBC: “I ama scientist so I wanted to try to support the scientific process wherever I can”.

Sarah Gilbert, professor of vaccinology at Oxford university, told The Times of London she was “80% confident” that the vaccine being developed by her team would work.

When Will This Vaccine Be Ready?

It is hoped that about a million doses could be ready by September. She assured. The Oxford vaccine candidate, called ChAdOxl nCoV-19, is made from a harmless chimpanzee virus.

How Effective Is The Vaccine?

“Vaccines made from ChAdOxl virus have been given to more than 320 people to date and have been shown to be safe and well tolerated, although they can cause temporary side effects such as a temperature rise, headache, or sore am.”

In the wake of this good news, we all should hopeful as great scientists are working tirelessly to end the dangerous pandemic ravaging the surface of the earth.
